In 1923 he lived in Petrograd, worked as an accountant in the “Tryapye-Loskut” partnership; arrested on November 3, 1923, accused of membership in an underground counter-revolutionary organization; sentenced by the OS at the Kogpu on May 16, 1924 to deportation to Siberia for 3 years (according to other sources, sentenced on June 3, 1924 to 3 years in prison). By the resolution of the OS at the Kogpu dated April 15, 1927, after serving his term, he was deprived of the right to reside in Moscow, Leningrad, Kharkov, Kiev, Odessa, Rostov-on-Don, and the indicated provinces with attachment to a specific place of residence for 3 years.
