A native of Kremenchug. Born in Ukraine. Since 1932 he moved to Moscow, worked in the Executive Committee of the Communist International, and also published in newspapers and magazines. Graduated from MIFLI. During the war years, he worked as a war correspondent and editor of front-line newspapers (including in Manchuria), for which he received ten government awards. After returning to Moscow, he defended his dissertation in philology. Worked at APN Publishing House. Author of the book "Gorky and Soviet essay" (Moscow: Soviet writer, 1962, 1965). Screenwriter of the film "Pages of Great Friendship".
