He was arrested in 1926 by the OGPU “for scouting activities.” On January 15, 1933, he was again arrested by the OGPU authorities on charges of crimes under Art. 58-10, 11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR. Decree OSK OGPU dated May 10, 1933 was expelled to Kazakhstan for a period of 3 years. Rehabilitated on May 25, 1966.
