Sentenced by the Leningrad City Court on July 7, 1949 under Art. 58-10 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 10 years in labor camp. The verdict was overturned in September 1949, and the case was sent for review. In October 1949 he was again sentenced to 25 years in labor camp. In 1954, the sentence was changed to 5 years in labor camp. The same year he was released from custody. Rehabilitated on April 12, 1961 by the Supreme Court of the USSR.
