Born in 1906 in the village of Kolpino, St. Petersburg Province ; Russian; graduated from seven classes of a labor school in Petrograd in 1921; member of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) since 1925. Worked for Leningrad newspapers. Author of articles, essays and short stories. In 1932, his adventure story "The Khibiny Treasure" and a collection of essays "The End of Umpek" were published separately. Executive Secretary of the Leningrad branch of the All-Union Society of Proletarian Writers "Kuznitsa". Arrested on 16 March 1935. Sentenced on 31 March 1935 by a resolution of the Special Conference of the NKVD of the USSR to a ban on residing in 15 populated areas of the country, including Leningrad. Moved to Arkhangelsk. Arrested on 5 June 1937. Sentenced by a troika of the Northern Territory UNKVD to 10 years in the camps. Transported to the Ust-Vymsky camp in the Komi ASSR. Arrested on 27.06.1941. Sentenced on 29.07.1941 by the Supreme Court of the Komi ASSR under Art. 58-14 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 10 years of imprisonment and 5 years of disenfranchisement. Released on 09.08.1951 from Special Camp No. 1 in Inta ("Mineral Camp"). By order of Department "A" of the MGB of the USSR dated 21.07.1951, he was sent into exile to a settlement. Worked as a surface foreman at mine No. 11/12 ("Zapadnaya") in Inta. Rehabilitated on September 22, 1954 by the UKGB of the Arkhangelsk Region for the case of 1937 and on February 24, 1956 by the Supreme Court of the RSFSR for the case of 1941. On April 26, 1956, he was released from exile and returned to Leningrad. He died in Leningrad on July 12, 1982.
