Genus. 03/06/1899 in Vitebsk; Jew; from the bourgeoisie; higher education; Ph.D. member of the CPSU (b) in 1932–1936. During the Civil War, he served in the political department of the Western Front, the political department of the 6th Separate Army, and the political department of the Petrograd Military District. Then a political worker at the construction site of Khibinogorsk. Finished university. Lived in Leningrad (Griboyedov Canal embankment, 9, apt. 50). Associate Professor Len. Historical and Linguistic Institute, head. critical department of the magazine "Literary Contemporary". He joined LAPP, then Litfront. Since 1931, rector of the Workers' Literary University at the Leningrad Region Writers' Union. In 1934 - delegate to the 1st Congress of Soviet Writers. Arrested 06/06/1936. Sentenced on December 23, 1936 by a visiting session of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR under Art. 17-58-8, 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 10 years in prison with disqualification for 5 years and confiscation of property. In custody on Solovki, he was kept at the Kremlin camp. By resolution of the Special Troika of the UNKVD LO dated 10.10.1937 he was sentenced to VMN. Shot on November 4, 1937 in the Sandormokh tract (Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic). Rehabilitated on January 10, 1956 by the ruling of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR
