Born in 1890 in Brussels; member of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) in 1925-1928. Research fellow of the Executive Committee of the Comintern, writer. Lived in Leningrad, Zhelyabova St., Building 19/8, Apt. 4. Arrested on March 6, 1928. Released on May 29, 1928. Arrested again on March 7, 1933 by the SPO PP OGPU in the Leningrad Military District, and escorted to Moscow. Sentenced on May 28, 1933 by the Special Conference of the OGPU Collegium under Article 58-10 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to exile to Orenburg for 3 years. In 1936 he left the USSR. Settled in Belgium. Wrote several books. In 1940, he and his son Vladimir fled to Mexico from the German occupation. He died in 1947.
