Born in 1884 in the village of Khoroshovka (town of Dobinka) , Kirsanovsky district , Tambov province; Russian; son of a priest; secondary education; member of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) (expelled in 1929, reinstated in 1930). Writer, literary critic, publicist, member of the Union of Soviet Writers. He served his exile in Lipetsk in 1929-1930. Lived in Moscow, Serafimovich Street, Bldg. 2 (Government House), Apt. 357. Arrested on 01/02/1937. Sentenced to capital punishment by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR on 13/08/1937 on charges of participating in an anti-Soviet terrorist organization. He was executed on 13/08/1937 in Moscow, burial place - Donskoye Cemetery. Rehabilitated by the Military Commission of the Supreme Court of the USSR on 07/02/1957.
