Born in 1894 in Mozhaisk   Moscow region; German; from the civil servants; higher education. Writer. Lived in the village of Peredelkino, Moscow region, writers' town, dacha 23. Arrested on 28 October 1937. Sentenced by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR on 21 April 1938 on charges of participating in a counter-revolutionary organization, preparing terrorist acts and espionage to the death penalty. Shot on 21 April 1938 in Moscow, burial place - Kommunarka. Rehabilitated by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR in November 1956.
