Born October 08, 1888 in St. Petersburg, Russian, citizen of the USSR, non-party member, writer (member of the Union of Writers of the USSR), lived in Leningrad (39 Tchaikovsky St., Apt. 14). Arrested January 11, 1937. By the NKVD Directorate for the Leningrad Region. Charged under Art. 58-10 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR (anti-Soviet agitation and propaganda), 58-11 (organizational activity aimed at committing a counter-revolutionary crime). On May 7, 1937, by the verdict of the Special Collegium of the Leningrad Regional Court, N. V. Barshev was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment with subsequent deprivation of the rights provided for in paragraphs "a" and "b" of Art. 31 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR (active and passive electoral rights, the right to hold elective positions in public organizations) for a term of 4 years. From the statement of N. V. Barshev's wife, V. I. Barsheva, it follows that N. V. Barshev was exiled to Kolyma in August 1937. He died on March 30, 1938 in Khabarovsk. By the Resolution of the Presidium of the Supreme Court of the RSFSR dated January 30, 1957, the sentence of the Special Collegium of the Leningrad Regional Court dated May 7, 1937 against N. V. Barshev was overturned and the case was dismissed due to the absence of corpus delicti in his actions. N. V. Barshev was rehabilitated in this case.
