Genus. in 1891 in St. Petersburg; higher education: graduated from St. Petersburg University (1912). In 1933 he lived in Leningrad, professor at the Historical and Linguistic Institute. Arrested on February 25, 1933 by the PPOGPU in the Leningrad Military District, he was accused of "being the head of a counter-revolutionary fascist organization." 04/20/1933 was released from custody, the case was dismissed. Arrested on March 16, 1935, charged under Art. 58-6, 58-11. He was under investigation in Moscow for 2 months, released on May 17, 1935. In 1941 he lived in Leningrad, professor at Leningrad State University, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. Arrested in Leningrad on 10/08/1941, charged under Art. 58-1a. Released 11/05/1941. He died in 1971, was buried in the Komarovsky necropolis (Komarovo settlement, Leningrad region).
