Stankevich Nikolay Vikentyevich
Born in 1889 or 1896. Studied at the Agronomical Institute. From 1916 - in the army, graduated from the 1st Kyiv School of Ensigns in 1917. Served in the North-Western Army, from 1919 - second lieutenant. Was in exile in Germany. In 1925 he lived in Berlin, in the same year he returned to Russia, to Leningrad, with his wife and two sons. In 1935 he was arrested, sentenced to administrative exile with his family. Lived in Kursk. Completed courses in training foreign language teachers, got a job as a teacher in rural areas. In 1939 they moved to Nalchik, Kabardino-Balkarian ASSR. He taught German at school, studied by correspondence at the Moscow Institute of Foreign Languages. During the occupation of Nalchik by German troops in October 1942, he was forced to work as a translator. After the liberation of Nalchik in January 1943, he was arrested. He was sentenced by a military tribunal to capital punishment for collaboration with the German army. He was rehabilitated in the 1935 case in 1957.
