Stankevich Adel Ivanovna
Born in 1900. In 1925 she lived in Berlin, and in the same year she returned to Russia, to Leningrad, with her husband and two sons. In 1935 her husband was arrested and sentenced to administrative exile with his family. They lived in Kursk. She completed courses to train foreign language teachers and got a job as a teacher in a rural area. In 1939 they moved to Nalchik in the Kabardino-Balkarian ASSR. She taught German at school and studied by correspondence at the Moscow Institute of Foreign Languages. During the occupation of Nalchik by German troops in October 1942, she was forced to work as a translator. After the liberation of Nalchik in January 1943, she was arrested. She was sentenced by a military tribunal to capital punishment for collaborating with the German army.
