Born September 6, 1891 in Moscow in the family of the famous scientist G.N. Gabrichevsky. In 1915 graduated from history and philology. Faculty of Moscow University. Since 1918, he taught at Moscow University, VKHUTEIN, the Higher Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, and the Institute of Postgraduate Studies of the USSR Academy of Architecture. Corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Architecture, Doctor of Art History, Professor. Author of numerous works on the history and theory of architecture, painting (mainly the Renaissance), music and literature. He was buried in Koktebel.
