From January 29, 1932 to March 18, 1937, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus.Since 1937, first secretary of the Kharkov regional committee and city committee of the CP(b)U.
He was arrested on October 11, 1937. On April 25, 1938, the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR was sentenced to military service and executed on the same day. On September 2, 1955, he was posthumously rehabilitated in the party order of the CPC under the CPSU Central Committee.
Awarded the Order of Lenin and the Order of the Red Banner.
