Born in 1917 in the village of Bogoslovka, Zyryansky District, Tomsk Okrug, Russian, citizen of the USSR, no registration, 2nd grade education.

In 1931, his father, Lyachin Demin Dmitrievich, born in 1888, was dispossessed, and the family was sent to a special settlement in the village of Sukhoi Log. In 1940, he was removed from the special settlement register. He lived with his family in the village of Sukhoi Log in the Zyryansky District and worked as a worker at the Simonovsky private farm.

He was arrested on December 20, 1942, as a member of a counter-revolutionary group that existed in the Simonovsky logging enterprise in the villages of Sukhoi Log and Simonovka, “with the goal of fighting the Soviet government and, in order to recruit them into the said counter-revolutionary group, they were cultivating anti-Soviet elements from among the former kulaks located in the Simonovsky commandant’s office and among the Germans, former fighters of the construction battalion who worked in the logging enterprise. He was present at gatherings organized by Shibayev, at which issues of a counter-revolutionary nature were discussed (from the testimony of Colonel Bukhovsky)” . From February 1943, he was held together with his “accomplices” (Shibayev Sergei Ivanovich, Bukhovsky Aleksey Konstantinovich, Gofman Ivan Andreevich) in Prison No. 3 of the NKVD NSO (Tomsk) as defendants under Articles. 58-10, Part 2, and 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR. Shibaev and Bukhovsky were convicted on March 4, 1944, of anti-Soviet agitation under Article 58-02 to eight years in a labor camp and five years of disenfranchisement.

Lyachin died in the prison hospital on July 25, 1943, before his sentence was handed down. The medical report listed the cause of death as "natural causes of active pulmonary tuberculosis."

Hoffmann died in custody on May 3, 1944, before sentencing.

There is no photograph in prisoner Lyachin’s file, but the questionnaire contains a verbal portrait: “Average height, average figure, horizontal shoulders, short neck, dark blond hair, brown eyes, round face, arched eyebrows, large nose.”

The file was discovered by chance in the damp basement of Pretrial Detention Center No. 1, some 80 years after its establishment. It is in poor condition, its pages eaten away by fungus and falling apart. Museum staff attempted to dry the documents and make copies.

Two more children were born to the family during their exile: a son, Nikolai (born 1933, died in infancy), and a daughter, Polina (Pelageya). The eldest daughter, Valentina (Vasilisa), escaped from the special settlement a year later. His mother, Marfa Vasilyevna, died in 1938.

Grigory Demidovich, the eldest son of the Lyachin family of special settlers, was removed from the register in 1940. He married, lived with his family in the same special settlement of Sukhoi Log in the Zyryansky district, and worked at the Simonovsky Health Care Institution.

Shibaev and Bukhovsky were convicted on March 4, 1944, of anti-Soviet agitation under Article 58-02 to eight years in a labor camp and five years of disenfranchisement. They were rehabilitated in May 1943. Hoffman died in custody on May 3, 1944, before the sentence was handed down.

There is no photograph in prisoner Lyachin’s file, but the questionnaire contains a verbal portrait: “Average height, average figure, horizontal shoulders, short neck, dark blond hair, brown eyes, round face, arched eyebrows, large nose.”

Grigory Demidovich Lyachin, born in 1917, is Russian by nationality. A native of the village of Bogoslovka, Zyryansky District, Novosibirsk Oblast, he was a kulak peasant. He was dispossessed and deported in 1931, and removed from the commandant's register in 1940.

Currently lives in the special settlement of Sukhoi Log, Yaransky (?) village council, Zyryansky district, Novosibirsk region and works in the Simanovsky logging site as a worker.

FOUND:

Grigory Demidovich LYACHIN is exposed as a participant in a counterrevolutionary group that existed at the Simanovsky logging enterprise in the villages of Sukhoi Log and Simanovka. The group's goal was to combat Soviet power. To recruit members of the said counterrevolutionary group, they cultivated anti-Soviet elements among former kulaks stationed at the Simanovsky commandant's office and among Germans, former construction battalion fighters working at the logging enterprise. He was present at gatherings organized by Shibayev, where counterrevolutionary issues were discussed.

Grigory Demidovich Lyachin shall be held in custody as a preventive measure for evading investigation and trial, and in accordance with Article 147 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the RSFSR, the arrested person shall be notified of this by signing this resolution. Based on order number 0457 and the order of the Head of Prison No. 3 of the Novosibirsk Regional Directorate of the NKVD, Captain of State Security Vasiliev, I, the doctor of Nikolaeva Prison, in the presence of Comrade Grebneva, the prison's DPN, conducted an external examination of the body of prisoner Grigory Demidovich LYACHIN.

The body is male, of average height, well-built, and severely emaciated. Rigor mortis has set in. The scalp is pale. The facial tissue is pale, and the labial mucosa is cyanotic. The neck is long and undamaged. The rib cage is cylindrical, with prominent ribs and retracted intercostal spaces. The upper and lower extremities are pale, and the bones are intact. The nasal, ear, and rectal openings are free of foreign objects.

Based on the above and case history number 268-13, the death of prisoner Grigory Demidovich LYACHIN was natural and occurred from active pulmonary tuberculosis.
