Born in 1933. Father was repressed in 1937. During the siege of Leningrad, he spent some time in an orphanage. Graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the Pedagogical Institute named after. A. I. Herzen in Leningrad. He led the literary club “Daring” at the Leningrad Palace of Pioneers. Under his leadership, the club turned into a center of intellectual confrontation between aspiring writers and the Soviet education system. In 1971 he was removed from work at the Palace of Pioneers. Then he worked as a school teacher for several months. In December 1971, after an unsuccessful suicide attempt, he died of pneumonia. He was buried in the Northern Cemetery of St. Petersburg.
