Kuks Mikhail Ilyich
Born in 1904 in Irkutsk. In 1925 he graduated from the Leningrad State University Faculty of Social Sciences in the economics department. On the recommendation of Academician S.I. Solntsev, he was left at the political economy department. After the liquidation of the economics department of the University, he transferred to the Engels Institute of National Economy, where he worked first as an assistant, and then as an associate professor of the political economy department until the reorganization of the Institute. Then he worked as a professor of political economy at the Leningrad Institute of Consumer Cooperatives and head of the postgraduate seminar at the Centrosoyuz Research Institute, and was a senior research fellow at the Leningrad Branch of the Communist Academy. He worked at the Public Library since 1930. In 1931 he was accepted as a 1st group research fellow at the Leningrad Branch of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the USSR Academy of Sciences. He lived in Leningrad (4 Zhukovsky St., Apt. 5). He was arrested no later than 12/11/1937.
