Genus. in 1884. In 1905 he entered the Faculty of History and Philology of St. Petersburg University, and graduated from it in 1911. In 1911 he was left at the Department of Russian History, where he worked until 1916. In 1920–1927. he is an associate professor, and later, in 1927–1931 and 1934–1938. - Professor of the Faculty of History and Philology. In 1917–1919 was in charge of the archive in the Expedition for the Procurement of State Papers. Arrested on April 18, 1938 by the NKVD for the Leningrad Region. Accused of committing crimes under Art. 58-8, 58-10 and 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR. By the ruling of the Military Tribunal of the Leningrad Military District dated September 15, 1939, the criminal case against him was sent for further investigation to the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Leningrad Military District. 05/07/1940 died of a cerebral hemorrhage in the prison hospital of the UNKVD LO. By the resolution of the VP LVO dated March 26, 1956, the case against S.V. Voznesensky was charged on the basis of Art. 4 clause 5 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the RSFSR was terminated. Rehabilitated posthumously.
