Samutin Leonid Alexandrovich
Years of life: 1915-1987
Reproduction methods:
Born in 1915 in Vologda province. His father, a member of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) and an active figure in socialist cooperation, was arrested in 1929. After his release, the family was forced to move a lot from place to place (Kazakhstan, Southern Urals). From the late 30s, after completing his studies at the Kazan Pedagogical Institute, L.A. taught physics and astronomy at the Ufa Pedagogical School. In 1941, while undergoing training camp, he found himself on the border in Belarus. In the first days of the war, he was shell-shocked, captured and then sent to a concentration camp in Germany, where he worked as a librarian, then as part of the Russian Liberation Army he was engaged in cultural work and took part in the publication of an army newspaper in Denmark (part of his memories of his experience were published in the magazine "Motherland", No. 6-7, 1991). In June 1946 he was transferred to the Soviet authorities from the British zone of occupation and convicted under Art. 58, paragraph 10 for 10 years of labor camp and 5 years of disqualification. Arrived in Vorkuta on December 6, 1946. He worked in a mine, on the railway, took part in a strike of prisoner miners and spent six months in the BUR. After the end of his prison term, from 1955 to 1970 he worked in the Pechora geophysical expedition, establishing and actively developing petrophysical research. Being a talented teacher, he worked a lot with applicants. An attempt to move on to full-time teaching in Phil. The LGI in Vorkuta, which he undertook in 1960 after his criminal record was cleared, ended in forced dismissal - the questionnaire “failed”. His trip to Ryazan to see A.I. Solzhenitsyn may have played a role in this. He left interesting memories about the events of the war years and his participation in the dissident movement. Died in 1987.T.P. Samutina, A.A.
