From 04/19/1978 to 05/27/1990 he worked as a mechanic repairing separate equipment at the Sokal chemical fiber plant. After his release, he corresponded with members of the OUN and the Ukrainian Helsinki Union. In 1988, he entered the UGS, often traveled to Lvov, brought and distributed nationalist leaflets and underground Samizdat literature. In 1989, with the beginning of the revival movement in the Sokal region, he was involved in the creation of UGS cells in the region, the Ukrainian Language Society. T. Shevchenko, NRU, URP. In 1990, he was elected chairman of the Sokal RO SRP, deputy of the Sokal district council. He wrote memoirs about his 28 years of struggle and captivity, which disappeared after his death.
