Genus. in 1905 in Kyiv; Jewish; secondary medical education; member of the CPSU(b); writer, memoirist; widow of G.Ya. Sokolnikov, convicted in the process of the “right-wing Trotskyist bloc.” In 1936 she was arrested following her husband, in June 1937 she was exiled to Semipalatinsk along with her mother and two-year-old daughter, there in December she was arrested again and in 1939 she was sentenced to 8 years in prison as “the wife of an enemy of the people.” In 1945 she was released and settled in Dzhambul, where she worked as a paramedic.
On May 28, 1949 she was arrested again. Sentenced on November 12, 1949 by a special meeting at the USSR Ministry of State Security 1 to 10 years in prison on charges of counter-revolutionary agitation and participation in a counter-revolutionary organization (Article 58-10, Part 1, 58-11). 08/14/1955 By decision of the central commission, she was released from prison and sent into exile in Dzhambul. Soon released from exile. In 1956 she was completely rehabilitated and reinstated in the party; resumed her writing activity.
