Genus. 07/17/1903 in Odessa; Jew; from the family of a hereditary honorary citizen; higher education; non-partisan. Since 1920 in Petrograd, he graduated from the historical department of Leningrad State University (1924). In the beginning. 1930s editor of the USSR history department of the Soviet Encyclopedic Dictionary. Since 1932, employee, then scientific secretary (since 1934) of the Historical and Archaeographic Institute (IAI) of the USSR Academy of Sciences; simultaneously with 1934, teacher at the Faculty of History of Leningrad State University. Candidate of Historical Sciences (1935). Lived in Leningrad (Kirochnaya street, 12, apt. 5). Arrested on 06/03/1936, accused of participation in the “Trotskyist-Zinoviev organization that committed […] the murder of S.M. Kirov". Sentenced on December 23, 1936 by a visiting session of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR under Art. 17-58-8, 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 10 years in prison with disqualification for 5 years and confiscation of property. In custody in Solovetsky prison. By resolution of the Special Troika of the UNKVD LO dated 10.10.1937 he was sentenced to VMN. Shot on November 4, 1937 in the Sandormokh tract (Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic). Rehabilitated on July 14, 1956 by the ruling of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR
