Journalist, editorial secretary of the magazine “Atheist”. He graduated from the Leningrad Oriental Institute (1930) and graduate school. Worked at the institute: head. workers' faculty, teacher (history of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks, economics of China), associate professor, deputy. director (vice-rector). Scientific employee of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Member of the Presidium of the Transcaucasian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences, deputy. Chairman of the Committee for Personnel Training of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1934). Part-time teacher at the Military Electrical Engineering Academy of the Red Army. Address before arrest: Leningrad, Krasnaya st., 57, apt. 1 (according to other data, Mytninskaya embankment, 11, apt. 25). Arrested on May 15, 1936, accused of participating in the “K/R Trotskyist-Zinoviev organization in the Leningrad Region of the USSR Academy of Sciences.” Sentenced on December 23, 1936 by a visiting session of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR under Art. 58-8, 11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 10 years in prison with loss of rights for 5 years and confiscation of property. Imprisoned in the Solovetsky prison, he was kept in the Savvatyevsky special detention center. By resolution of the Special Troika of the UNKVD LO dated 10/09/1937 he was sentenced to VMN. Shot on November 2, 1937 in the Sandormokh tract (Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic). Rehabilitated on July 14, 1956 by the ruling of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR
