October 24, 1973 prisoners (agents of the Ministry of Internal Affairs) Tsirektidze Yu.G. and Valiko Usupyan fatally beat prisoner N.U. Ismailov, as a result of which Ismailov died on October 27. The Ministry of Internal Affairs held Yu.G. Tsirekidze for years. and Usupyan V. in pre-trial detention centers, were not sent to the camp, and investigators used them in their work, in particular, to extract testimony from prisoners placed in special building No. 2. In Pre-trial detention center No. 1 in Tbilisi there is a special building No. 2. In April 1975, the People's Court of the Kirov District of Tbilisi considered case No. 2254 on charges that prisoners Yuri Grigoryevich TSIREKIDZE and Valiko Usupyan had fatally beaten prisoner N.U. Ismailov on October 24, 1973, as a result of which Ismailov died on October 27, 1973. For three days after the beating, no help was provided to Ismailov. The defendants were charged under Article 110, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the GSSR (“Intentional grievous bodily harm”) and under Article 129, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the GSSR (“Left in danger”). The trial took place in the club of Pre-trial Detention Center No. 1 in Tbilisi.
The defendants Tsirekidze and Usupyan were sentenced to 6 years of strict regime.
