Khanjyan Aghasi Ghevondovich
Definition: First Secretary of the Central Committee of the CP(b) of Armenia in 1930-1936 Member of the RSDLP (b) since March 1917, delegate to the XV (1927), XVI (1930), XVII (1934, member of the Central Committee) Congresses of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks, VI and VII Congresses of Soviets of the USSR.

Genus. in 1901 in Van (Türkiye). The teacher's son. Educated at the Communist University named after Ya.M. Sverdlov (1922). In March 1917 he joined the RSDLP(b). In 1917 he participated in the creation of the organization of young socialists "Spartak" (Armenia). From September 1919 - member of the bureau of the Transcaucasian Komsomol organizations, secretary of the underground Erivan Party Committee. In August 1919 and August 1920 he was arrested by the Armenian government. November 1920 - Feb. 1921 - Secretary of the Yerevan Regional Committee. In 1922-1926 - at party work in Leningrad. From 1928 - 2nd, from 1930 - 1st Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (b) of Armenia. Since 1934 - member of the Central Audit Commission of the CPSU (b). In 1936 he was arrested. Killed on 07/09/1936 during interrogation. Posthumously rehabilitated. He was buried in the Yerevan City Pantheon.
