Genus. in 1909 in St. Petersburg; Russian; from the nobility (son of the scientist ethnographer and anthropologist A.N. Kharuzin and Baroness N.V. von der Hoven); non-partisan. An employee of the Moscow French newspaper "Journal de Moscou". Arrested 02/21/1932 on charges of "anti-Soviet agitation". By the decision of the Special Meeting at the KOGPU dated 04/03/1932, he was sentenced under Art. 58-10 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 3 years of exile. Sent to Belbaltlag 05/05/1932. Released early for "shock work". Before the second arrest he lived in Moscow. Arrested in 1935. Sentenced on 01/23/1936 by the Special Collegium of the Moscow Regional Court under Art. 58-10-11 of the Criminal Code to death with a replacement for 10 years in prison with strict isolation. Imprisoned in Solovki. By the decision of the Special Troika UNKVD LO dated 10/14/1937, he was sentenced to VMN. Shot on 11/01/1937 in the tract Sandormokh (Karelian ASSR). Rehabilitated
