Sergeev Petr Gavrilovich
Chemist, Doctor of Chemical Sciences
Born in 1885 in Moscow; higher education - graduated from the Chemistry Department of the Moscow Higher Technical School. Lived in Moscow. From 1920 - teacher, associate professor, then professor of the Chemistry Department of the Moscow Higher Technical School. After the reorganization of the Chemistry Department of the Moscow Higher Technical School - in the same position at the 2nd Moscow Chemical Technology Institute, then at the Voroshilov Military Chemical Academy. Arrested on 10.02.1938. Sentenced on 31.05.1940 by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR under Art. 58-1"b", 58-7, 58-8 and 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. In custody at the OGPU OKB in Moscow. He was involved in the creation of a method and industrial installation for the combined production of phenol and acetone. After the process was introduced into industry on 21.10.1946 (according to other sources, on 21.08.1946), he was released early with the conviction expunged. He was rehabilitated by the Supreme Collegium of the Military Court of the USSR on 12.05.1956. From 1953, he worked as the head of the laboratory of the Research Institute of Synthetic Alcohols and Organic Products in Moscow.
