Voznesensky Sergey Alexandrovich
Chemist, Doctor of Chemical Sciences
Born in 1892 in the Arzamas district of the Nizhny Novgorod province; Russian; son of a priest, no name; graduated from the Moscow Commercial Institute with a degree in commercial engineer of the 1st category in 1918. Professor of the Military Academy of Chemical Defense named after K.E. Voroshilov, Doctor of Chemical Sciences. Lived in Moscow. Arrested on 24.06.1941. Sentenced on 05.04.1942 by the Special Conference of the NKVD of the USSR under Articles 58-1 "6" and 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 10 years in a correctional labor camp. While imprisoned, he worked in the chemical group of the laboratory of the 4th Special Department of the MGB of the USSR, a special laboratory of the 1st Main Directorate under the Council of Ministers of the USSR. From 01.01.1948 he was appointed head of the radiochemical department in Laboratory "B". He was released on 21.12.1949 after serving his sentence with work days counted. He was rehabilitated on 28.05.1953. In November 1954, he was elected professor and head of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry at the Physics and Technology Faculty of the Ural Polytechnic Institute in Sverdlovsk. He died in Moscow in 1958.
