Serebrennikov Alexey Petrovich

Definition:

Altai; teacher. Prisoner of Tomsk prison. Died in Tomsk psychiatric hospital on February 6, 1944

Years of life: 1895–1944
Reproduction methods:

Born in 1895 in the village of Baragash, Shebalinskaya volost, Biysk district, Tomsk province*. An Altai native, he was a peasant by birth, a citizen of the USSR, and literate, having graduated from the Kazan Teachers' Seminary. In 1917, he joined the RSDLP(b), but was not a party member at the time of his arrest. He lived in the village of Novotyryshkino, Smolensk district, Altai territory, and worked as a teacher. He was married and had four sons.

Family:

  • Serebrennikova Anna(?) Alekseevna, born in 1905 — wife;
  • Serebrennikov Evgeny Alekseevich , born in 1922 - son (drafted into the Red Army in 1941 by the Semipalatinsk RVC, completed his service in February 1945, with the rank of junior lieutenant);
  • Serebrennikov Gennady Alekseevich , born in 1924 - son (drafted into the Red Army in 1941 by the Smolensk RVC, Altai Territory, went missing in action in August 1943);
  • Serebrennikov Arkady Alekseevich, born in 1926 - son;
  • Serebrennikov [uncertain] Alekseevich, born in 1928. - son.

He was arrested on August 16, 1943, by the Smolensk Regional Directorate of the NKVD on charges under Articles 19-58-8 and 58-10, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR: "He conducted anti-Soviet, defeatist propaganda among the population and made threats against the district's party and Soviet leadership, which is sufficiently incriminated by the investigative case file." By the time of his arrest, he was no longer working as a teacher and was listed as a pensioner. He was held in Biysk Prison No. 2.

In September, his case was transferred to the Investigative Department of the NKGB Directorate for the Altai Krai. Serebrennikov was transferred and arrived at the internal prison of the NKGB Directorate for the Altai Krai (Barnaul) on September 24. Senior prison warden Kalashnikov filed a report on Serebrennikov's violation of the prison rules on September 25, 1943. Based on the prisoner's personal file, on September 27, 1943, he was subjected to carousel interrogations (by investigators Filimonov and Dmitriev) and sent to solitary confinement for three days. A certificate from a doctor at the Sychevsky Medical Station, dated May 14, 1940, was found in the investigation file, stating that Serebrennikov suffered from schizophrenia. To determine the sanity of the arrested man, Colonel K.S. Voloshchenko, head of the NKGB Directorate for the Altai Territory, ordered Serebrennikov sent to the Tomsk Psychiatric Hospital for a forensic psychiatric examination to determine his sanity and suspended the case until the accused returned from the hospital. On October 31, 1943, Serebrennikov arrived at Prison No. 3 in Tomsk, and on November 5, he was placed in the Tomsk Psychiatric Hospital for an examination.

On February 6, 1944, Serebrennikov, a defendant, died in the Tomsk Psychiatric Hospital. The death certificate, signed by the psychiatric hospital physician Shalnova and the duty physician Solodovnikova, listed the causes of death as pellagra, vitamin deficiency, and a psychiatric diagnosis of schizophrenia.

The prisoner's personal file doesn't contain a photograph, but his profile includes a verbal description: "Tall, medium build, sloping shoulders, long neck, dark blond hair, oval face, low forehead, curved eyebrows, large, thick nose. Small mouth, thick lips, straight chin, large ears." Distinguishing features include a large wart above his right cheek, near his temple, and the fact that he speaks a foreign language, quietly and with a lisp.

Imposition of one penalty on prisoner Serebrennikov

I, the DPN of the military prison of the NKGB AK Zanchukovsky, on September 27, 1943, reviewed the report of the senior warden of the military prison of the NKGB G. Kalashnikov.

Found it

That prisoner Serebrennikov, Cell No. 2, violated the prison cell regulations on September 25, 1943, after lights out. For example, he began demanding that the warden give him a light, which a warden is not supposed to do. [When] the warden demanded that he stop violating, prisoner Serebrennikov began insulting him in every possible way. On September 25, 1943, prisoner Serebrennikov started a fight with his cellmates, claiming that he was mentally ill, thereby violating the prison cell regulations. It was decided

Prisoner Serebrennikova of Cell No. 2 is sentenced to a fine with transfer to a punishment cell for three days for insulting the guard of post No. 2 and for violating the prison cell regulations.
