Akulov Ivan Alekseevich
First Prosecutor of the USSR, member of the Bureau of the CPC under the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks, Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the USSR
Born in 1888 in St. Petersburg; Russian; member of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) from 1907 to 1937. First deputy chairman of the OGPU from 1931 to 1932, Prosecutor of the USSR from 1933 to 1935. Member of the CPC Bureau under the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks), secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the USSR. Lived in Moscow, Troitskaya Street, Building 10. Arrested on July 23, 1937. Sentenced on October 29, 1937 . Convicted by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR for "participation in a counterrevolutionary military conspiracy in the Red Army" under Articles 58-2, 58-8, and 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR. He was executed in Moscow on October 30, 1937 (Donskoye Cemetery). Rehabilitated by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Supreme Court of the USSR on December 18, 1954.
