Genus. in 1901 in St. Petersburg. Member of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) since 1919. Graduated from Leningrad State University and the Leningrad branch of the Institute of Red Professorship (postgraduate studies). Historian-philosopher, head of the department of party history, head of the Committee for Literature and Publishing Houses of Leningrad.Arrested on 02/05/1937 under Articles 58-10, 58-11. By decision of a special meeting, he was sentenced to 5 years of exile in Kazakhstan. He served exile in Kokchetav with his wife and 2 children. A third son was born in exile. In 1942, he voluntarily joined the Red Army, reached Prague, and was awarded the Order of the Red Star. In 1945-1949 worked as deputy dean of the Faculty of Politics and Economics of Leningrad State University. Expelled from the party a second time, in 1949, in connection with the Leningrad Affair. In 1953 - supply manager at the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics of Leningrad State University. Since January 1956 - senior scientific editor of the Nauka publishing house. Personal pensioner of union significance. Died in Leningrad on October 23, 1996.
