Professor at the Institute of Archeology. In the summer of 1941 he was at the excavations near Uman. Got captured. Was in German concentration camps. In 1943, his book "Archaeological excavations near Uman" was published in Germany. After being released from a German concentration camp, he was sentenced to 10 years in labor camp. He served his term on the construction of 503 of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs, played in the camp theater in Igarka.
