Savnor Vanda Antonovna
Born in 1914 in St. Petersburg, Polish, studied at the Stravinsky Music College (later renamed M.P. Mussorgsky). In 1935, she took part in a competition for the opera department of the K.S. Stanislavsky studio. In 1938, she was arrested, suspected of espionage - charges were brought under Art. 58-6. She was released from prison after 10 months. In the same year, her husband, a graduate of the D.I. Mendeleyev Moscow Chemical Technology Institute, an engineer-technologist, before his arrest - the chief engineer of VNIIAsbestcement projects, was arrested. In 1932, he was sent to Italy to study new technologies at asbestos-cement plants. Upon returning home, he began to introduce these innovations into domestic production. With a term of "5 years in the camps" he was transferred to the North, to Koryazhma. In 1944 he returned from prison, a year later they had a son. In 1949 her husband was arrested again. While on tour in Krasnoyarsk, Vanda Antonovna learned that her husband was in Igarka. She decided to move to him from Moscow and began working at the GULAG theater. After the theater was disbanded in 1950, she and her family moved to Ermakovo (Construction Site 503). She was appointed artistic director of the Construction Site 503 club and amateur performances.
