1926, December 31. – Born in 1926 in Moscow, in the family of a prominent Bolshevik V.V. Lominadze, who shot himself in 1935 in anticipation of his arrest. Arrested in November 1943, accused of anti-Soviet agitation and "preparing for terror." Sentenced to 10 years in a labor camp. Transported to a Far Eastern camp, then to Mongolia for the construction of the Ulaanbaatar-Naushki railway. In the fall of 1949, he was transferred to the settlement of Ermakovo for construction No. 503 (construction of the Salekhard-Igarka railway). Worked in the headquarters column, participated in camp amateur performances. On March 5, 1952, he was released on credits without the right to leave the settlement of Ermakovo. He worked as a civilian rate setter. In 1955 he moved to Kazakhstan to be with his mother, who was in exile. In 1957 he returned to Moscow and worked for Literaturnaya Gazeta. In 1959–1964 he studied at the Literary Institute. After graduating, he worked for the Voprosy Literatury magazine; since 1993, he has been deputy editor-in-chief. Since 1965, he was a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR, since 1979, a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR, and since 1998, a member of the Russian PEN Center. He died on August 13, 2007.
