Born in 1926 in Kiev. In 1938, his father was arrested and executed. In September 1941, he was evacuated with his mother to Bogorodsk in the Gorky region. In 1944, he was drafted into the army and served in the guards mortar units. In 1944, he was arrested at the front on charges of anti-Soviet agitation. Sentenced on 12 May 1944 by the military tribunal of the Moscow garrison under Article 58-10.2 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 5 years in the camps and 3 years of exile. While in prison, he worked in a camp theatre, first in the Beskudnikovsky camp near Moscow, and from 1948 - at construction site No. 501. In 1949, he was released from the camp and left in exile as an administrator of the theatre's variety group at construction site No. 501. In 1952, he was released from exile and moved to Gorky. He was rehabilitated in 1956.   In 1958 he graduated from Gorky State University (Historical and Philological Faculty). Member of the Union of Writers of the USSR since 1966, in 1972 he moved from Gorky to Moscow. Died on 15.01.2008.
