Born in 1902 in Arzamas, Nizhny Novgorod Province; Russian ; from the nobility; secondary specialized education - graduated from high school in 1911, then the First State Film School. Film actor, silent film director, sound engineer, set designer, teacher, journalist. Lived in Moscow, in 1936-1938 - in Ashgabat, worked as artistic director, director and sound designer at the opera studio of the House of Folk Art. He was arrested in 1938 by the NKVD of the Turkmen SSR , accused of espionage. In 1939, he was released due to lack of corpus delicti. In 1941 - associate professor at VGIK, joined the militia. He was captured. Arrested in 1945. Accused of serving as a "HiWi" ("volunteer assistant") in the electrical brigade of the veterinary company of the 306th Infantry Division of the Wehrmacht as a prisoner of war in 1943-1945. Sentenced on 02.11.1945 by the Chisinau garrison to 10 years in a labor camp. Imprisoned in Pechora and Minusinsk. In 1947, he was the director of the camp theater of the 501st construction site of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs in the village of Abez, Komi, then the director of the theater of the 503rd construction site of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs in Igarka and Ermakovo, Krasnoyarsk Krai. Released in 1952 under amnesty. Rehabilitated on 18.10.2005 by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Moldova. Died on 11/19/1991 in Miass   Chelyabinsk region.
