Binkin Zinoviy Yurievich
Composer, conductor. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1976)
Born in 1913 in Yuzovka (now Donetsk). From the age of 15 he was a solo trumpeter in the symphony orchestra of Donetsk Radio. In 1934 he graduated from the Moscow Music College named after the October Revolution, majoring in trumpet, and in 1957 from the Moscow Conservatory, majoring in opera and symphony conducting. Since 1935 - solo trumpeter and instrumentalist, then conductor of the Special Model Orchestra of the People's Commissariat of Defense, composer. From 1945 to 1953 - an exile in Salekhard, created a jazz orchestra. From 1953 to 1956, until his rehabilitation, he voluntarily remained in Salekhard. Since 1956 - editor, head of the editorial board of brass and pop music at the Soviet Composer publishing house. Since 1958 - member of the Union of Composers of the USSR. In 1976 he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR. He died in 1985.
