Historian, archaeologist, ethnographer
Genus. in places Volozhin Oshmyansky district Vilna province; Jew; from the bourgeoisie; higher education; non-partisan. Graduated from the Faculty of Language and Material Culture of Leningrad State University (1929). He was arrested in 1928 without charge. In 1929–1932 he worked as a teacher and head. educational unit in the Oredezhsky district of the Leningrad region. In 1932–1935, postgraduate student at LIFLI, from April 1935 scientific. employee of the IIFO SAIMC. Since September 1935, he has been an associate professor at the Faculty of Leningrad State University and LIFLI; before his arrest, he was also a graduate student at the Institute of History of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Lived in Leningrad (Malaya Moskovskaya st., 2, apt. 19). Arrested 09/23/1936. Sentenced on December 24, 1936 by a visiting session of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR under Art. 17-58-8, 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 10 years in prison with disqualification for 5 years and confiscation of property. Imprisoned in Solovki (arrived 12/29/1936). Sentenced by a resolution of the Special Troika of the UNKVD LO dated 10.10.1937 to VMN. Shot on November 4, 1937 in the Sandormokh tract (Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic). Rehabilitated on June 30, 1989 by the Prosecutor's Office of the Arkhangelsk Region and on June 20, 1994 by the Prosecutor's Office of Leningrad.
