Genus. in 1878 On the night of November 29, 1926, the archbishop was arrested. Accused of spreading counter-revolutionary rumors aimed at causing distrust in the Soviet government and discrediting it, and inciting believers against the government. He did not admit guilt. On March 22, 1927, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison “for counter-revolutionary activities against Soviet power.” He was sent to serve his sentence in the Solovetsky Special Purpose Camp (SLON). He fell ill with typhus and in January 1929 was placed in a typhus barracks, which was opened in the Golgotha-Crucifixion monastery on the island of Anzer. There, after being ill for two weeks, he died.
