Sentenced on September 22, 1948 in Tbilisi by the Military Tribunal of the troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Georgian SSR under Art. 19-58-2, 19-58-8, 58-10 part 1, 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the Georgian SSR to 25 years of labor camp, 5 years of disqualification with confiscation of property. He served time in Rechlag (Vorkuta, Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic), worked in an orchestra. The last few years before liberation he lived in a free settlement outside the camp. Released in 1956. After liberation, he lived in Tbilisi and worked as a designer. Rehabilitated in 1968
