Born in 1898 in the Stebris estate, Degalinsky volost , Tukkums district , Courland province, Latvia; Latvian.

During the civil war, he commanded a regiment of Latvian riflemen. He worked as the head of the Yakut branch of Soyuznickelolelovprodsnab. He lived in the city of Yakutsk. He was arrested on 03.12.1937 in Moscow. He was sentenced on 08.06.1938 by the Special Conference of the NKVD of the USSR under Article 58-6 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 10 years in a labor camp. He was imprisoned in the North-Eastern camps, the Butugychag mine, and the Vakhanka processing plant. He was sentenced on 20.08.1941 by a troika of the NKVD Directorate for Dalstroy (according to other sources, the VT troops of the NKVD in Dalstroy) under Article 58 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to capital punishment. He was executed on 30.08.1941. Rehabilitated by the Military Tribunal of the Zabvo on 31.01.1956 based on the 1938 verdict and by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR on 07.07.1956 based on the 1941 verdict.
