Born in 1909 in the village of Semenovskoye, Gzhatsky district, Smolensk province; Russian; from a priest's family; higher education; no registration. In 1937 he lived in Leningrad, pr. Mayorova, house 23, apt. 20. Deputy editor of the newspaper "On guard" of the NKVD Directorate of the Leningrad Region. Arrested on 01.12.1937. Sentenced by the Military Commission of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on 23.09.1938 under Articles 17-58-8, 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 5 years in a correctional labor camp. Rehabilitated by the Military Commission of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on 09.07.1955.
