Definition: Russian philologist, historian, teacher, home teacher of Tolstoy's children, comrade of the Minister of Public Education in the governments of Witte-Stolypin (1905-1908) and in the Provisional Government (1917), in 1918-1920 member of the anti-Soviet organizations National and Tactical Center.
