Genus. in 1874 in Moscow; Social Democrat, member of the RSDLP since 1903, since March 1917 member of the Petrograd Soviet, deputy of the Petrograd City Duma, member of the economic department of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee. In 1921 he lived in Moscow, arrested on November 7, 1921; in September 1922 he was arrested again. Left the RSDLP in 1920–1921. In 1930 he was a member of the Presidium of the State Planning Committee of the USSR, a member of the board of the Central Statistical Office of the USSR; arrested, charged in the case of the “Union Bureau of the Central Committee of the RSDLP”; at the trial of the 14 in 1931, he admitted the existence of an illegal counter-revolutionary organization, gave a list of people who were “part of” it, and a program of “sabotage” actions; sentenced by the USSR Supreme Court on March 10, 1931 under Art. 58-4, 7 and 11 to 10 years in prison and 5 years of disqualification. In the spring and summer of 1931 he was in the Verkhneuralsk political isolation ward and was boycotted by his party comrades and other prisoners for giving false testimony at the trial; later transferred to the Suzdal political isolation ward, where he died on March 11, 1940. Rehabilitated 05/13/1991.
