Kadyrov Sinaver Arifovich

Definition: Crimean Tatar social activist, one of the leaders of the human rights organization "Azatlyk", a political prisoner during the USSR. Former member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people. Delegate of the Kurultai of the II-V convocations.

Genus. in Samarkand in 1954. Graduated from the Tashkent State Pedagogical Institute with a degree in “Teacher of Crimean Tatar language and literature”. In 1984 - 1985 took an active part in the creation of the underground Crimean Tatar magazine “Kasevet”, secretly distributed in the cities of Uzbekistan and the Krasnodar Territory, because of which he was arrested on December 12, 1985. Sentenced in March 1986 under Article 191-4 of the Criminal Code of the UzbSRR. Served his sentence in Yakutia.
He was constantly a member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people during 1991 - 2013. He was a delegate of the Kurultai of the II, III, IV and V convocations, and was elected chairman of the Central Election Commission. On January 23, 2015, he was detained by Russian border guards while trying to travel with a Ukrainian passport to mainland Ukraine, from where he was supposed to go to Istanbul for a medical examination. Delivered to Armyansk, a local court sentenced to a fine and deportation to Crimea without the right of return.
