Genus. in 1949 in the village of Komarovichi, Stary Sambir district, Lviv region, Ukrainian SSR; Ukrainian; higher education, in 1972 graduated from Lviv Polytechnic Institute; engineer, technical editor of the Tekhnika publishing house. Lived in the Ukrainian SSR, Kiev region, Vasilkovsky district, Kalinovka village. Arrested on April 23, 1977 for membership in a Ukrainian public group to promote the implementation of the Helsinki Agreements. Sentenced by the Kyiv Regional Court on March 29, 1978 under Article 62 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR to 7 years in a high-security prison and 5 years in exile. He served his term in the Perm camps - VS-389/36, and exile - in the Aktobe region. KazSSR. Released in March 1987 by pardon. After his release, he worked as an operator at an oil refinery in Drohobych, then as a correspondent for the city newspaper Radnianske Slovo.
