Genus. in 1926 in the village of Vigrelu, Vilkavishsky district, Grazhin region, Lithuania; Lithuanian. Member of the Lithuanian national movement. Prisoner of German concentration camps. He ran. Arrested 05/03/1948. Sentenced by the Military Tribunal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Lithuanian SSR on September 18, 1948 in Vilnius on charges of treason under Article 58-1a, 58-8, 58-10 part 1. Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 25 years in the camps, with confiscation of property. Released in 1973. Worked as an electrician in the Electrical Installation Works Department No. 5. Lived in Kaunas, Lithuanian SSR. Arrested on February 24, 1926. Convicted by the Supreme Court of the Lithuanian SSR on April 14, 1978 under Art. 68 part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Lithuanian SSR to 10 years in prison and 5 years of exile for distributing Lithuanian samizdat, collecting materials about the Lithuanian liberation movement, translating the “Gulag Archipelago” into Lithuanian, helping the PZK and storing archives of the partisan movement of the 1940s. He served his term in Dubravlag and Perm camps, and exile in the Khabarovsk Territory. In the camp he joined the Lithuanian Helsinki Group. Released on November 3, 1988 due to pardon. Rehabilitated in 1989 by the Supreme Court of the Lithuanian SSR. In 1991 - deputy of the Supreme Council of Lithuania. Died on September 28, 2017.
