Genus. in 1940 in the Ukrainian SSR, Dnepropetrovsk region, Sinelnikovsky district, Chervonoyarskoye village; Ukrainian; incomplete higher education: in 1965 he was expelled from the 4th year of the Faculty of Philology of Dnepropetrovsk University. Summer 1966 arrested as one of the authors of the samizdat “Letter to the Creative Youth of Dnepropetrovsk.” Sentenced by the Dnepropetrovsk Regional Court on January 27, 1970. under Article 62 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR to 4 years and 6 months of a penal colony. He served his sentence in Dubravlaga, Vladimir prison, and Perm camps. After liberation he lived in the Ukrainian SSR, Dnepropetrovsk. Since 1978, member of the Helsinki Human Rights Group. Sentenced by the Dnepropetrovsk Regional Court on January 13, 1981 under Art. 62 part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR to 10 years of penal colony (of which the first 5 years of imprisonment) and 5 years of exile. He served his sentence in the Chistopol prison and Perm camps. Released 08/02/1988 under amnesty.
