Genus. in 1926 in Odessa. Graduated from the Odessa Institute (microbiologist). She became the wife (since 1961) of the former political prisoner (1944-1960) S. Karavansky. After his new imprisonment in 1965, she actively fought against the illegal arrest of her husband. Dismissed from the medical school in 1971. She moved to Nalchik and worked as a teacher at the medical school. On December 6, 1971 she was arrested. In May 1972, she was sentenced to 4 years in a labor camp on charges of “conducting anti-Soviet agitation and propaganda.” She served her sentence in the women's department of the camp in the village. Barashevo, Tengushovsky district of Mordovia, was a participant in the hunger strikes of women political prisoners. In 1975 they renounced Soviet citizenship. After her release she lived in the city of Tarusa, Kaluga region. In 1976 he became a founding member of the Ukrainian Helsinki Group. In November 1979 she left for the USA with her husband; was a member of the Foreign Representative Office of UHG. She died on August 2, 1998 in the USA.
